New Jersey company TrueCompanion and Hines has developed the world’s first “sex robot”. The robot called ‘Roxxxy’ has different personalities and responds to the sense of touch.Roxxxy, is a female robot which acts as a life partner or mate for those who can’t find the 'real thing'. TrueCompanion claims Roxxxy “can carry on a discussion and expresses her love to you and be your loving friend. She can talk to you, listen to you and feel your touch.”
TrueCompanion introduced its first robot, Trudy, in 1993.
Roxxxy will be available from next week
The sex robot is a two and a half year project costing around $1 million. The company is currently working on the male version of the robot.
Roxxxy will be available in the US and European market from next week and will cost about $7,000 to $9,000 (excluding subscription fee).
Created by Douglas Hines, Roxxxy stands five feet, seven inches tall and weighs 120 pounds.
“She has a computer, she has IO boards, she has servos, she has a battery pack, she has an accelerometer, she has touch sensors and pressure sensors throughout her body,” said Hines.
“She can't vacuum, she can't cook but she can do almost anything else if you know what I mean. She has a full C cup and is ready for action,” added Hines.
Roxxxy’s different personalities
Roxxxy, the sex robot, comes with five different personalities; Wild Wendy is outgoing while Frigid Farrah is reserved. A naïve personality called Mature Martha has “matriarchal kind of caring”, while S & M Susan is very adventurous.
“She knows exactly what you like. If you like Porsches, she likes Porsches. If you like soccer, she likes soccer. Depending on your mood, one can assign the robot different personalities and the robot will accordingly respond.
For example, if you hold Mature Martha’s hand she may say “I love holding hands,” whereas if you touch Frigid Farrah’s hand she may say “What are you going to do with that hand?” said Hines.
Roxxxy is also wirelessly linked to the Internet for software updates and technical support. People can customize “true companion” personalities and share it with others online.
“Just think about wife or girlfriend swapping without actually giving the person to someone else. You can share the personality online,” said Hines.
Idea for Roxxxy
Hines inspiration for Roxxxy came from the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
“I had a friend who passed away in 9/11. I promised myself I would create a program to store his personality, and that became the foundation for Roxxxy True Companion,” said Hines.
He feels his creation is not only for recreation and fun but also for people with problems of sexual dysfunction.
